A public memorial service for South African music legend Johnny Clegg is being held in Sandton, Johannesburg. Clegg died in his Johannesburg home last Tuesday at the age of 66.
The grammy-nominated singer was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2015.
Clegg was fondly known as the ‘White Zulu’ for his command of the language.
His unique blend of African Zulu Rhythms and Western Pop accentuated Clegg as a symbol of change in the 1970s and 80s.
