WATCH: George Nene memorial service

George Nene was chairperson of the South African Association of Former Ambassadors and the first high commissioner to Nigeria.

Friends and colleagues of late diplomat George Nene are bidding him farewell in Pretoria.

A memorial service has been organized at the department of international relations for Nene who died last week. He worked at the department since 1994 and only retired two years ago.

Nene was chairperson of the South African Association of Former Ambassadors and the first high commissioner to Nigeria. He was also a member of the uMkhonto weSizwe Military Veterans’ Association until his death.
