Thousands of members and supporters of the South African Communist Party are gathered in Mbombela, Mpumalanga for the Red October rally which is being addressed by ANC’s Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa.
They are chanting pro Ramaphosa songs endorsing him for the ANC presidency to be contested in the elective conference to be held next month.
His main rival for the party’s highest position, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma is also campaigning in the province at Kwamhlanga.
This year, the SACP Red October rally is themed, Stop gender based violence – Red card against women and children abuse.
