Jed Holloway
Reading Time: < 1 minute

Waratahs lock, Jed Holloway, has been suspended from all forms of rugby for three weeks, up to and including the 18th of May. Holloway, who was held back at a ruck by Sharks prop Thomas du Toit, retaliated by striking the prop in the face with his elbow.

The incident happened in the 46th minute of the match and Holloway was red carded. A mid-range suspension of six weeks for striking a player on the head was considered.

However, due to the player’s clean judicial record, the fact that he expressed remorse and pleaded guilty, the suspension was reduced to three weeks.

Holloway will miss the Waratahs’ tour to South Africa where they’ll play the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld and the Lions at Ellis Park before taking on the Reds in Brisbane.
