A Walter Sisulu University student has died after falling from a student residence building in the Mthatha campus on Saturday night.
University Spokesperson, Yonela Tukwayo, says they are saddened by the student’s passing.
“A third-year Bachelor of Education male student fell from the fifth floor of his residence at Chumani at our Nelson Mandela Drive site. The student was pronounced dead on site and police were called in and they also investigating the matter.
We have had the unfortunate task of having to inform the family of the deceased student that their child has now passed on,” says Tukwayo.
Details around the incident are still unclear, but police are investigating.
