Western Cape Police have arrested three men in separate incidents on charges of attempted murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm and attempted hijacking.
Police spokesperson Frederick Van Wyk says a man was arrested in Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain, after police responded to a shooting incident.
Community members informed the police of the 49-year-old suspect’s whereabouts and he was found in possession of an unlicensed pistol and six rounds of ammunition.

In a separate incident, officers intervened when an e-hailing driver was being robbed in Browns Farm, Philippi.
Two suspects tried to rob the driver of cash and his cellphone and were arrested on charges of attempted hijacking.
