The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) has responded to a number of incidents in the Western Cape.
At Strandfontein, duty crew assisted with the delivery of a baby boy. This, after a pregnant woman arrived at the sea rescue base reporting contractions.
The mother and baby were transported to the hospital, and both are reportedly doing well.
NSRI also responded to a near-drowning at Strandfontein where a man was rescued.
At Strand, a 25-year-old woman suffered non-fatal drowning symptoms. She was transported to the hospital in a critical condition.
