Virgin Active South Africa has confirmed that there’s been a cyber attack on its system.
The company says in a statement that law enforcement agencies and its IT security teams are currently working around the clock to contain and manage the crisis.
It has taken all necessary steps to protect data and taken all systems off line.
The company has assured its clients that its clubs are operating normally and there is no indication that any data has been removed from their system.
Virgin Active has more than 700 000 members in South Africa and 142 clubs.
