The head of the African Union elections observer mission to Kenya, Thabo Mbeki, has expressed concern over violence that marred voting in several parts of Kenya during a re-run of the presidential elections.

Mbeki says the violence casts a shadow over the elections.

At least three people have been killed so far.

The poll was boycotted by opposition leader Raila Odinga and his supporters.

The electoral commission has announced repeat elections in at least four counties where voting did not take place due to violence.
