In this week’s Global COVID-19 Wrap, SABC News captures highlights from the African continent, Europe, Asia, and the Americas – as the number of confirmed infections worldwide rise. There are currently over 9.7 million confirmed cases of the virus with more than 5.2 million recoveries, with deaths well over 492 000.

In South Africa, the number of confirmed cases passed the 100 000 mark this week. Deaths have surpassed the 2000 mark.

On the rest of the continent, 52 African Union Member States have so far reported 351 411 cases; 9 115 deaths and 169 016 recoveries.
