There is jubilation at Vhangani Village, outside Vuwani in Limpopo, where Miss South Africa 2020 Shudufhadzo Musida was born and bred.
She holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Pretoria and is currently studying towards her BA Honours in International Relations at the University of the Witwatersrand.

One of the people who supported her campaign to be Miss South Africa, Khosi Livhiwani Matsila, says her hard work is inspiring many young villagers.
“Shudufhadzo Mushida’s victory and success as Miss South Africa 2020 is a thrilling experience for us as the Venda nation. As the Matsila royal family and the Matsila Community Development Trust that supported her from day one to today we feel excited, we are very proud that a Venda girl, one of our own product of the village has made it to be Miss South Africa.”

Musida is passionate about education and mental health. She believes that the country has a responsibility to distigmatise mental illness.
She will receive R1 million in cash as well as a further two million rand worth of sponsorships and prizes. This includes the use of a luxury Sandton apartment and a Mercedes-Benz cabriolet for a year.
