Veteran actor and activist Patrick Shai has passed away

Veteran actor and activist Patrick Shai has passed away. Shai passed away in his Soweto home on Saturday morning.

The news of his passing has been confirmed by his family in a brief statement.

The family has asked for space to process the painful loss and says they will release more details in due course. Shai is best known for his roles on the television series Soul City and TV soap Generations.

Shai was also an activist. He was involved in the fight against gender-based violence.
