As uncertainty around the future of VBS Mutual Bank increases, clients continue to flock to its branches to withdraw all of their funds.
Clients are allowed to withdraw R 1000 per day and small depositors have been advised to close their accounts.
Hundreds of clients in Thohoyandou have expressed anger at delays in accessing their money.
Some say they have been in queues since midnight and are frustrated by the withdrawal limit.
“Our burial society has invested sixty thousand, we used to come here to withdraw one thousand rand, we arrrive at ten, I am not happy with this. We just want them to give us all our money, we are sick, we even fear for the lives of our children because we leave them on their own.”
