The rollout of the coronavirus vaccination process for police officers and support staff has been delayed in KwaZulu-Natal. Police in the province say that the vaccines have not yet arrived.

The provincial vaccination drive for SAPS members will, however, kick off on Thursday in seven provinces. It is expected to continue until the first week of August.

Over 3 000 members have already been vaccinated in Gauteng.

KwaZulu-Natal is one of 2 provinces where the process has been delayed. By last night, the number of members that have tested positive for the virus had risen to over 32 000.

Six-hundred-and-73 police officers and support staff have died from the virus.
