The United States (US) Secretary of the Treasury, Janet Yellen says she is eager to discuss her country’s partnership with South Africa in the Just Energy Transition.
South Africa is the first African country to adopt the initiative and incorporate it into its policy whose aim is to have a net zero carbon emission by 2050 and use more renewable energy.
Yellen is currently holding talks with her South African counterpart, Enoch Godongwana in Pretoria.
Earlier, she said she wanted to hear Godongwana’s views on the common framework for debt treatment given to South Africa as a member of the G20 .
