ANC National Chairperson Gwede Manatshe and the Provincial Task Team Convener Oscar Mabuyane have both urged delegates of the contending parties not see themselves as enemies as they all have to work together to build the ANC beyond the conference.
They also urged them to refrain from singing divisive and factional songs.
They have all nailed their colours to the mast. And those supporting Oscar Mabuyane are raising two fingers in support of his bid for a second term while those supporting Babalo Madikizela are calling for change. But as the convener in the province, Mabuyane was quick lay the rules of the game urging all in sundry to conduct themselves in a manner that will forge unity beyond the conference.
“And in his keynote address ANC National Chairperson Gwede Mantashe urged delegates to focus on policy discussions rather than be obsessed about leadership,” says Mabuyane.

The ANC National Chairperson also decried rampant corruption committed by some party members saying it’s a sign of treating society with disdain.
Mantashe said most ANC led municipalities are failing to provide the most basic amenities due to corruption.
“The conference is expected to end on Monday with President Cyril Ramaphosa expected deliver the closing remarks. And whichever way the provincial leadership goes, it will embolden his bid for a second as party president as both contenders have all thrown their weight behind him at the December ANC Elective conference,” says Mantashe.
