Pressure is mounting as the UEFA Champions League week two continues, with Europe’s footballing greats pursuing continental glory.

Some big guns have been putting up very good displays.

Italian giants, Juventus, are top of Group H with six points from two games after a 3-0 win over Switzerland’s Young Boys.

With Christiano Ronaldo serving a suspension, playmaker Paulo Dybala flourished by netting a hat-trick.

Meanwhile, Manchester United settled for a point after they played to a goalless draw with Valencia in their second Group H battle.

Manchester United defender, Chris Smalling, expressed his disappointment following his side’s draw.

“I think we have to stand firm, we are going through a tough patch obviously, and as players, we are the only ones who can turn it around, so we have to stand tall and turn around as quick as we can”.

However, Real Madrid suffered a shock 1-0 loss, when CSKA Moscow’s Nikola Vlasic opened the scoring in the second minute at the VEB Arena.

Vlasic latched on to Toni Kroos’s poor back pass and slotted home.

The result continued a dismal streak for Madrid, who has won only two of their last five games in all competitions.

In Germany, Manchester City claimed their first win in Group F and clinched a 2-1 victory in the 87th minute over Hoffenheim.

City’s David Silva robbed the visitors’ central defender, Stefan Posch, in the box late in the match and slotted home a sharp left-footed winner which secured City the three points. By Lindelwa Godie
