The majority of classes at the University of Cape Town (UCT) will remain suspended until further notice.

Classes were called off last week due to on-going student protests. University spokesperson, Elijah Moholola says the Faculty of Health Science and the Graduate School of Business will continue as per normal.

On Monday the High Court in Cape Town granted the institution an interim interdict preventing students from taking part in
unlawful protests.

Moholola says despite the disruptions, exams will start in two weeks.

“As per the announcement made on Monday, UCT classes remain suspended on certain campuses on Tuesday. Course conveners at the effected campuses will do their course content through online learning approaches. Regardless of how long the suspension of face to face is in place, the executive will endeavour to ensure that exams go on as planned in two weeks’ time,” says Maholola.
