Two Tshwane Metro Police officers have been arrested for alleged bribery and corruption. The pair was arrested in a joint operation by the National Traffic Anti-Corruption Unit and the Hawks.

The two 33 year-old officers were arrested on Sunday near the Fountains cycle in the capital city where they were allegedly extorting bribes from motorists.

They are expected to make their first court appearance on Monday. This brings the number of people arrested for bribery and corruption to nine since the start of the festive season Arrive Alive campaign.
