Police in Mpumalanga are investigating two separate crashes that claimed the lives of seven people on the N4 Toll road near Mbombela, last night.
Six people died in one of the crashes involving a truck and an SUV.
Spokesperson for the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Moeti Mmusi, says the victims were all declared dead at the scene and were all males.
“The two seriously injured people were rushed to Mbombela hospital for treatment. In another incident, there was a t-bone type of an accident between a truck and a sedan at Alkmaar near Mbombela. The driver died at the scene, three people sustained injuries and involved two children,” says Mmusi.
