Two people have been killed in a crash involving two trucks and a minibus, on the N5, in the Free State.

One person who was injured has been taken to Thebe Hospital in Harrismith.

Emergency Services Spokesperson, Sipho Towa says the crash  happened after a truck was hijacked at Montrose.

The hijacked truck crashed into another truck which then crashed into the back of the 22 seater minibus.

Towa says it’s believed that one of the deceased is the suspected hijacker from the truck.

One of the dead was a passenger on the minibus. Eight other people from the minibus sustained minor injuries.
