Two Free State MECs test positive for COVID-19

Two Free State members of the executive council have tested positive for the coronavirus. They are the MEC for Education, Tate Makgoe and the MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Thembeni Nxangisa.

Makgoe has been admitted to a local hospital in Bloemfontein.

MEC Nxangisa, whose test results returned positive on Saturday, is currently in isolation and will continue to execute his duties from home.

MEC for Economic, Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs Makalo Mohale is acting as MEC for Education until further notice.

Free State Premier Sisi Ntombela has wished both MECs a speedy recovery.
