Tutu’s legacy will be his love for all people: Bishop Steve Moreo

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Bishop Steve Moreo of the Anglican Diocese of Johannesburg says Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu’s legacy will be his love for all people. He was addressing the media outside Tutu’s Orlando West home in Soweto, which the archbishop had since donated to his church.

Residents of Soweto have also been arriving at the house. They spoke fondly about him to the throng of journalists camping outside the Soweto home. Moreo says he will remember Tutu as a God-fearing man.

“A prayerful man, a very disciplined person. He had a rhythm of life, of prayer, social action, communication and connecting with people. That is what he showed every day. And it was in this house where I experienced it myself. And in his home in Cape Town.  A man of prayer a man who was disciplined and he had rhythm in life,” says Bishop Moreo.

Tutu died at his Cape Town home at the age of 90.
