The former Independent Electoral Commission chairperson, Terry Tselane, has launched an election management service in Johannesburg.

He says the Institute of Election Management Services in Africa (IEMSA) will offer African countries, its political parties and civil organisations election specific training and facilitation services.

“IEMSA is a one-stop shop rendering election management services. Its main responsibility is to provide support for election management bodies in the continent, offer strategic advice and to manage elections for institutions that require such services,” a statement explains.

Tselane says they have already started working with political parties by conducting their intra-party elections.

The IEMSA Board of Directors constitutes of people all over the continent who have successfully managed and administered elections either as chairpersons or chief electoral officers of the election management bodies in their respective countries.
