Truck driver in head-on collision faces culpable homicide charges

The accident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning along the N1 North near the Weighbridge and took the lives of three people aged between 22 and 30 in the sedan.

The SA Police Service (SAPS) in Makhado, Limpopo are investigating a case of Culpable homicide after a truck and a sedan car collided in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The accident which occurred at around 04:00 am, along the N1 North near the Weighbridge took the lives of three people aged between 22 and 30.

Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says, “It is alleged that the truck was travelling from South to North along the N1 when it collided with a sedan head-on. All occupants of the sedan died at the scene.”

“The process of identifying the deceased is still underway but it was confirmed that one of the deceased is an international recording artist,” adds Ngoepe.

The cause of the accident is not clear but police are investigating.
