Tributes continue to pour in for well-known Durban veterinarian Dr Omashini Armoogum who succumbed to COVID-19 related complications.
Dr Armoogum and her husband ran the Montclair Veterinary Hospital, south of Durban.
Her death has left the animal welfare sector in shock.
Neeri Naidoo from Phoenix Animal Care and Treatment (PACT) says Dr Armoogum was a selfless person who always went the extra mile for the community’s furry friends.
“Dr Armoogam has touched the lives of so many, thousands and thousands of animals, changing their lives, the root that their lives were going to take. And I don’t think anyone ever entered her practice without just smiling because her smile was infectious. She really had a heart for humans and for animals alike. She always went the extra mile for the animals that we took to her, that were under her care. Both she and her husband were just stalwarts of the animal rescue community and I cannot put into words just how sorely she will be missed.”
