Traditional leaders from KwaZulu-Natal have told Public Protector Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane that they are being neglected by both provincial and local governments. The chairperson of the KwaZulu-Natal House of Traditional Leaders, Inkosi Phathisizwe Chiliza says they operate without a budget.
He also told Mkhwebane that traditional councils don’t have a budget either, meaning that there is no money to renovate their buildings. The meeting was organised after traditional leaders asked the Public Protector’s office to intervene.
