A traditional court in Zvimba, north of Zimbabwe’s capital, has ordered former First Lady Grace Mugabe to exhume the remains of her late husband, former President Robert Mugabe.

The court says he must be reburied at Heroes Acre in Harare. This after finding her guilty of going against customs and traditions when she buried the statesman at his homestead in 2018.

Noooo… let the old man rest in peace. Seriously now!! Leave Mama Grace Mugabe alone! ? https://t.co/VSI0YCCar4

When the former President Robert Mugabe died it was expected he’d be laid to rest at the National Heroes Acre in Harare. A special grave next to his mother’s and his first wife had been reserved for the time he would pass.

However,  a fallout with the government during the days of mourning saw Grace Mugabe refuse the official funeral rites, insisting her husband wanted to be buried in his home village.

Now she’s been fined 5 cattle and a goat for a cleansing ceremony. She’s been given until July 1st to appeal the ruling.
