On Monday the South African rand firmed to a two-month high against the US dollar this as investors returned to emerging markets.
The rand is trading at around R15.20 to the dollar. The currency is tracking emerging markets higher on hopes of a recovery in commodity prices.
Economists say markets have also priced in a convincing budget speech by Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.
