A 13-year-old girl has been arrested in connection with murder of a 63-year-old woman from Fairbreeze near Tongaat, north of Durban.
It is believed that the elderly woman was killed earlier this week.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Thembeka Mbhele says it is believed that the suspect is the granddaughter of the deceased.
Mbhele says police are still busy with the suspect according to the Child Act.
She says: “On Monday, we reported that there was a murder case where a 63-year-old woman was allegedly attacked by an unknown man. However, after a thorough investigation by police with the assistance of the family, we were able to arrest the suspect.”
