Kenneth Kaunda led Zambia to independence from Britain, being the president from 1964 until 1991.

Zambia’s founding father and former President Kenneth Kaunda passed away in Lusaka at the age of 97 on June 17, 2021.

Kaunda led Zambia to independence from Britain, being the president from 1964 until 1991. He was also instrumental in assisting other Southern African countries to gain independence from minority rule.
