Three suspects found guilty in Mpumalanga for 2018 murder of girl with albinism

The three suspects have been found guilty at the Mpumalanga High Court sitting in Middelburg for killing a 13-year-old girl with albinism at Vosman outside eMalahleni.

The trio includes traditional healer  Thokozani Msibi. They were found guilty of killing Gabisile Shabane and her two-year-old cousin, Nkosikhona Ngwenya in 2018.

The children were abducted from their home. Gabisile’s mutilated body was found in a shallow grave in Pretoria and Nkosinathi’s body was found along the highway. Four suspects were arrested.

Themba Thubane, a teacher, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two life sentences in 2019.

The community of eMalahleni in Mpumalanga was devastated following the kidnapping of  Shabani and her cousin in 2018.  The men stormed into their home at Vosman township and forcefully took the two children at gunpoint on a Sunday evening.
