Six other people were injured in an Eastern Cape accident.

Three people have died after a double cab bakkie in which they were travelling overturned on the R63 between Bedford and Cookhouse in the Eastern Cape.

The vehicle was travelling from Bedford with nine passengers.

“It is alleged that driver lost control and the vehicles overturned leaving two passengers dead including the driver while the third person died on arrival at Bedford Hospital. Six other occupants sustained serious injuries including a 12 year old boy. The accident is being investigated,” says Transport department spokesperson, Khuselwa Rantjie.
