A seven year-old boy has been killed after a fire destroyed his home in Khayelitsha on the Cape Flats.
No one else was injured in the fire.
Fire and Rescue spokesperson, Theo Layne says the cause of the fire is being investigated.
He says the City’s Fire and Rescue Service responded to a formal residential fire in Khayelitsha.
“One male minor sustained fatal burns. The cause of the fire is undetermined.”
The incident has been handed over to the South African Police for investigation.
Meanwhile on Tuesday two children were killed in a fire at a block of flats in Belhar in the north of Cape Town.
