There is a big need for basic football apparel in rural areas: Matlou

Banyana Banyana stalwart Noko Matlou has praised the Solly Malatsi Legacy Foundation for their donation of soccer boots and balls to 25 youngsters around Limpopo’s Capricorn District.

The foundation hosted the youngsters including a young female football side and their coaches at Meropa Casino on Monday. Matlou says it is necessary for campaigns like this.

Matlou says it was important for her to be present at the event especially for the young ladies side Capricorn Stars Sport Development FC.

The 33-year-old adds that the involvement of government officials can accelerate development.

The foundation’s chairperson and South African Member of Parliament Solly Malatsi says their target is to reach as many needy sports loving kids as possible.


The foundation has also roped in the assistance of Taiwan ambassador to South Africa Wei Chung Chou who was also present at the event.

Meanwhile Chou says his office and his country are pleased to be part of a life changing initiative.
