The trial of the man accused of murdering Fort Hare University student Nosicelo Mtebeni resumes

The trial of the man accused of the murder of Fort Hare University law student Nosicelo Mtebeni will resume in the High Court in East London on Tuesday.

It was postponed last weekend after the suspect, Alutha Pasile, secured legal representation.

His legal representative requested the postponement to study the case.

Pasile faces a charge of murder and defeating the ends of justice.

Twenty-three-year-old Mtebeni was murdered in August this year.

Her body was dismembered and put in a suitcase which was then left on the streets in Quigney in East London.

Bail application abandoned

In September, the accused abandoned his application for bail. The 25-year-old will remain in custody.
