The Independent Electoral Commission has dispelled suggestions that it is late with the 2021 Local Government Election results. Briefing the media at the Results Operation Centre in Pretoria, the IEC said that according to legislation, it has 7 days from election day to announce the results. The Commission says in the past it has set the bar very high to announce results in record time. The IEC says it’s on track to meet the 7 day deadline.
