A ten-year old girl has been killed during a shooting between rival gangs in Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain on the Cape Flats. Police spokesperson, Novela Potelwa, says two suspects have been arrested. Potelwa, says both suspects are believed to have strong links with local gangs.
“Following a shoot out between rival gangs in Tafelsig last night, where a 10 year old girl was killed, Mitchells Plain police and anti gang unit members arrested two suspects aged 21 and 26 not far from the scene. The 21 year old suspect was arrested with an unlicensed firearm. Anti -gang unit members and lock-down forces are on the ground to prevent flare-ups and restore calm in the area.”
