The quality assurance body, Umalusi, has commended the national and provincial Basic Education departments for ensuring that there were no systemic irregularities in the 2018 matric examinations.
Umalusi says it will be approaching education stakeholders to request that matric results be released at a later date than the first week of January.

The marking of matric exams has been concluded, and the Basic Education Department says it’s now busy with the capturing and verification of the marks.
As the 2018 matric examinations officially ends on Wednesday some matric learners from a Gauteng school will re-write the Geography Paper One on Thursday.
