The Department of Water and Sanitation says the Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP) tunnel has been re-opened with water already reaching the Saulspoort Dam in Bethlehem in the Free State.

The Department of Water and Sanitation says although the current national average water level for dams across the country is below 75% there are no immediate plans to implement water restrictions.
The Water and Sanitation Department has decided to retain the current water restrictions placed on the Western Cape.
Department of Water and Sanitations spokesperson, Sputnik Ratau says the focus has been on the Western Cape because the situation there is dire and there has been some form of recovery in other provinces of the water resources.
