Kenya’s private sector activity inched up in May after falling sharply a month earlier because of restrictions to curb the spread of coronavirus, but conditions are expected to worsen in coming months, a survey showed on Thursday.
Commuters were on Tuesday stranded in various parts of Nairobi, Kenya as President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive stopping non-essential movement in and out the city, as well as three other COVID-19 affected areas in the country took effect.
Kenya, like many other African countries, has put in place stringent measures to limit movement in and out the country.
Former Kenyan President Daniel Arap Moi has died at the age of 95. He was the East African country’s longest-serving president, occupying the office for 24 years – from 1978 until 2002.
