Mozambique has asked for the extradition of ex-finance minister Manuel Chang, who is detained in South Africa on US charges over a corruption scandal in his home country, a Johannesburg court heard Friday.
The search continues for two more bodies of teens presumed to have drowned in Portuguese Islands in Mozambique on Sunday.
International Relations Minister Lindiwe Sisulu has denied suggestions that a diplomatic row is brewing between South Africa and Mozambique.
Chang was arrested at the OR Tambo International Airport in December over alleged secret loans totalling R2 billion to Mozambican state companies.
The court hearing of former Mozambican finance minister Manuel Chang, who faces charges of fraud and money laundering, has been postponed until Jan. 18, a member of his legal team said on Thursday.
