Despite being the epicentre of the coronavirus pandemic in South Africa, Gauteng is the National Soccer League’s preferred province for the completion of the ABSA Premiership and the GladAfrica Championship.
Professional football could return in South Africa later this month behind closed doors. Football authorities in the country are now speaking with one voice, and have already prepared a document with guidelines they will submit to government in the next couple of days.
With the Absa Premiership suspended until further notice to help curb the spread of the coronavirus, football clubs across South Africa have to adapt as they wait to see if and when the league resumes.
