Political analyst, Somadoda Fikeni, says former ANC member of Parliament Makhosi Khoza’s decision to launch a new party does not auger well for the governing party.
Khoza launched the African Democratic Change in Rivonia, Johannesburg on Saturday. The party is coalition of 16 small organisations and parties
Fikeni says: “It simply means that all the illusions in Polokwane that Zuma will unite the party and would also unite the tripartite alliance, have all been wrong in a more dramatic fashion. Given the number of splits and that in itself is a cause for reflection by the ANC because that has been accompanied by an incremental decline which doesn’t seem to be reversible in the national elections. And in the local government elections the losses were even heavier in the urban areas.”
