President Cyril Ramaphosa says the eight-person Eskom Sustainability Task Team he has appointed will work with the Public Enterprises Department.

The team will advise government on actions to resolve the power utility’s operational, structural and financial problems with the help of the Eskom board and management.

Ramaphosa says he wants a plan urgently. He has requested the task team to submit initial recommendations by the end of January 2019.

Eskom recently implemented rotational load shedding as it struggles to keep the lights on.
