Suspects in Limpopo government theft case back in court

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The trial of two men who allegedly stole R25 million from Limpopo government departments is set continue at the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in Giyani.

Walter Mashau allegedly connived with bank employee Fhatuwani Mudzanani to transfer money from bank accounts of two departments into accounts they had created.

The trial was postponed last month for Mudzanani to get a new legal representative.

Mudzanani’s lawyer withdrew from the case, citing a lack of communication with his client.

He also withdrew his intention to plead guilty during his previous appearance.

Mudzanani made an application for a lawyer from the legal aid board.

His co-accused, Mashau, is also using the services of a legal aid lawyer.
