One suspect has been shot dead and another wounded following a chase with the police in Centurion, Pretoria. This after a group of over five men attempted to rob a popular eatery in Pretoria.
The police intervened and a shootout occurred between the cops and the suspects.
Police are investigating attempted murder, attempted robbery and other charges. The other suspects managed to flee the scene.
Police spokesperson Kay Makhubele explains:
“The police noticed the vehicle which was involved in the robbery. When they started seeing the police they started shooting and drove off. One of the suspects hijacked another vehicle and the police followed the vehicle up to R101 where a shootout occurred. The suspect was shot at and he died on the scene, the second suspect was arrested at the scene. Both of the suspects were found in possession of an unlicensed fire arm.”
