Survivors of gender-based violence have been honoured in a graduation ceremony in Johannesburg.
This after the group of 170 participated in a health and social care skills development programme.
Martha Mathebula, one of the participants and a survivor said, “I thought it was love, I thought he loved me and was protecting me, but when the abuse and the beatings continued, I left, but went back because I was dependent on him”
