With 89% of voting districts declared in the Northern Cape, support for the ANC has dipped below 50% for the first time ever in local government elections. The party currently has 49.78% of the vote, a drop from 2016’s 58.26%
In KwaZulu-Natal, with 54% of voting districts declared, the party has garnered 42.3% of the vote. In 2016 the party had 57.48%.
In the Free State, with 75% of voting districts declared, the ANC has been hovering around the 50% mark, and currently stands at 50.05% support. In 2016 the party won 61.53% of the vote.
