Mamelodi Sundowns will be looking to close the gap on log leaders Kaizer Chiefs to just four points with a victory.

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says they will not take Stellenbosch FC for granted when they clash in a league match at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Wednesday night (kick-off 7:30pm).

Sundowns will be looking to close the gap on log leaders Kaizer Chiefs to just four points with a victory. The Brazilians beat Stellenbosch 3-1 in a first-round clash in Pretoria late last year.

In the audio below, Mosimane says they will fight to get maximum points.

Sundowns are lying second on the log with 41 points in 20 matches, while Stellenbosch are sitting in 11th position with 27 points in 23 matches.

Sundowns are likely to be without goalkeeper Denis Onyango, midfielders Andile Jali and Gaston Sirino. Mosimane is confident that Onyango and Sirino will pass the late fitness test.

Sundowns were knocked out of the Caf Champions League by Egyptian giants Al Ahly on Saturday.

After facing Stellenbosch in the league they will visit Highlands Park in the Nedbank Cup on Sunday.

Mosimane says they have to juggle playing in three competitions in a week. – Report by Vincent Sitsula
